As a pre-shave, it worked well. My skin was less irritated and smoother using this product than when not using it, however, this product is extremely aromatic. The smell caused my breath to catch and my eyes to water. Also, there was a lingering coating left on my skin that had an extremely bitter taste. There was no way to avoid getting it on my lips except with very careful application and washing afterward. The taste remained up to several hours and interfered with the enjoyment of my meals.

Afta Pre-Electric Shave is the best prep for an electric shave that I have found. It raises the beard for an extremely close and comfortable shave. I’ve found no other product that works as well. Unfortunately I’ve had problems finding it locally so I turned to the internet. Great product. Close electric shave. For just a couple of dollars.

I’ve been shaving for a long time, and have always used Lectric Shave. However, I’m always looking for ways to improve my shave. So, after reading reviews about Afta, I decided to give it a try. I ordered two of the bottles – which arrived VERY promptly – and started shaving with the Afta.
On the positive side – there is no real oily feeling after shaving. That’s about all I could find that was good. My electric razor felt hotter, and the hairs stayed like a fine powder on my face and scalp( I shave my head too), and I noticed that there was a definite difference in the closeness of the shave. I use the newest Braun Pulsonic razor – which I also bought on Amazon (works GREAT) – so I know it’s not the fault of the razor.
I shaved with the Afta for 5 days, and finally this morning went back to the Lectric Shave. WHAT a DIFFERENCE. The shave was cooler, much smoother, and since I always wash my face and scalp after shaving, the slight oily feeling is taken care of. Most importantly, my shave is closer by far with the Lectric Shave.
So, the Afta has found its way to my circular file, and I will continue to be a Lectric Shave user. Sorry, AFTA.
